"My PFW"

Each three months, Paris gets all dressed up to receive editors, models, celebrities and glamour... The whole world sets its eyes on the City of Love, and doesn't miss a single event. The medias open out, to achieve quickness and efficiency.

WEDNESDAY
MIERCOLES

Ten exhausting, exciting days, and each and single one of them in its own version. Let's start with Guy Laroche, one sunny day in Place de la Concorde. There, I casually bump into Rocabert, from V Magazine! He doesn't let any event pass by! Front row, and sunglasses (rings under the eyes: I didn't sleep through the whole night!) and I'm interviewed for who knows what website... The day starts well! After that, I run to the Anne Valérie Hash show, a Paris Fashion Week regular, and Suzy's daughter.

A room (literally) very baroque, with two rows of seats. In this case, I was in ST. So what? I was inside, wasn't I?

Comparing Laroche to Hash, is up for no debate. Laroche was boring, with sad colors and for over 30-year-olds. On the other hand, Anne managed to showcase more than 18 colors! A feminine, casual collection, showing a transition from Haute Couture knowledge to a carefully thought through day-to-day prêt-à-porter...

We finally took a break in the hot spot of Paris Fashion Week: Café Beaubourg (part of the Costes group), just in front of the Centre Pompidou. And after chatting, smoking, having lunch and a few coffees, I jumped in a cab to the Oliveira show!

I LOVE THIS GUY!!!
And his conception of a comfortable, modern, warm and realist streetwear... Expensive? Yes! but it's a collection based upon details that make the difference with good basics!

Thursday.
Jueves

Manish Arora, in the garage of "Rue Turenne", with Kanye West in the first row and me two meters away from him. Nothing out of this world! How stressful to be famous, and flash here, flash there... And everything with people always introducing themselves and bothering the poor person!

There, I find out, meeting some Spanish girls, that Manish belongs to the Puig group, like Nina Ricci. Huuuuuum!

It's cold, and I'm in heels! But of course, it's Fashion Week, and to boast, one has to suffer (or, like others would say, to be photographed, one must boast AND suffer). Seating in a café between two Dries Van Noten boutiques, 13 Quai Malaquais, I meet a Spanish guy that happened to be the director of the 080 Barcelona fashion event! What a memory... And inside, I bump into Carlos, from PAPER PLANES magazine (which I seriously recommend)...

Hace frio, y llevo tacones!

Friday.
It would have been "THE PERFECT DAY" if I hadn't picked up the Lanvin invitation at midnight like Cinderella... 8 hours late???!!! DAMN!!!
DAMN!

But let's start from the beginning: another "rendez-vous" with Rocabert to go to Miyake, running down Rue de la Paix to reach Concorde, I wear my long skirt (thank God it's not tight!).At 11 a.m., a performance and a piano concert... (almost fell asleep!) Though in fact, the best part of the collection was watching how they made the paper origami in the middle of the catwalk.

Leaving their style behind, and getting modern? Maybe? I don't know what happened to Miyake but I'm gonna go for his Fortuny pleats rather than a collection of vests and pants with Tangram-colored prints...

Following up: Yurkievich, in which I liked the prints and tights, because I'm not too sure about those bison straps or patchwork... And, as I always say, quality fur doesn't guarantee an elegant nor innovative result... Anyway, I'm into the cut of their jackets and the made-for-travelling pillow they gave the guests!

Non-stop: straight to the Grand Palais, where our most international Spanish designer pampers papers us with a totally worthwile collection. Colors, tight minidresses, an orange parka: OMG! I WANT IT! Oversized sleeves and immersed ruffles.
I WANT IT! mangas oversize y volantes inmersos en costuras.

Without having lunch, I take a drink with the blogger Laparisina, I go home, I change, and I'm on the way to Colette, the Luis Venegas inauguration and more! What a treat! Free champagne, I could barely breathe, a suffocating heat and Anna Dello Russo in one side, while the daughter of the princess of Monaco is in the other one. And, in the middle of all this, Clara Curel, from Yodona Magazine Spain, interviews Rocabert and moi with microphones, camera and a lightbulb!!! It couldn't get any warmer!!!
Colette

We're already late for the presentation of Hogan by Lagerfeld, knowing that Karl would be there at 8... And he wasn't in my list of real-life-seen designers yet!

Fffffffffffffffiiiiiuuuuuuufffffiiii TAXI!!!!! Straight to the Rothschild!!! It was perfectly decorated, just like an old palace, a candle-lighted hall and two atmospheres: upstairs, the party, guaranteed by Leigh Lezark and Misshapes, and downstairs, the presentation with KAAAAAAARL!
Allí conozco a varios españoles, porfín!

Hi!
Thank you for sharing your amazing experience in PFW in such a close and down-to-earth way! It's diferent from everything we usually read about it and makes it feel more "human"...
I have a question for you, couldn't find your e-mail to ask you personally, but here it goes: in Paris, where can I find a Zara store with the more exclusive items and studio collection? I hope you can help me! Thanks!
